I have an interesting issue. I have a folder on server1 with doc that employees use daily. This folder is shared and shortcut to server2. If user1 goes into a doc say excel on server1 then the next user trying to access it is told locked by user1. In this case this is fine. Now if that were to happen in server2 then it states that file is locked by someone that isn't even in it and it is that same user it shows all the time even if they are not in it. Now server1 is Win 2003 Standard and server2 is Win 2003 64bit.

is it a DFS share, or a standard share?

Standard DFS has never been used.

Is Opportunistic Logging on or off on both the main server and the one data is copied to? This sounds like an OpsLock issue.
