Dir sir,

Web admin are providing statement of working without HACMP.

Boss like idea and is want to work, but spending no money for HACMP.

Can this be work with no HACMP, and no data gone? Being access data from 2 LPAR, same time.

Kindly regards,
RJ

You cannot have the the VG that the disk belongs to imported on 2 systems at the same time.

Kindly thank for response.

We pay big money for Shark. Boss want Shark tool for being allow shared LUN access on 2 LPAR. Is there being such tool for Shark, and costing no money?

Please excuse second time for question. Want to make Boss to understand.

Kindly regards,
RJ

Dear!
You can share one ESS LUN between two nodes!
I am not sure about two LPAR's sharing of same LUN however
logically speaking this can be done.
You can use manual varyonvg and varyoffvg commands just as like you can do for shared SSA disks.
There is no additional tools required

polani,
You are correct that you can share a LUN but the VG cannot be varied on one both nodes.

If I am reading rj45terms question correctly, they want to access the LUN at the same time, meaning one node can read it while the other is writing to it.
