Hi all, tried searching for this though couldn't find anything! - anyways, I'm trying to find a way to share existing directories on my sharepoint server through sharepoint itself. To elaborate, these directories more or less make up my FTP site and I was hoping there was some kind of web part available to link to either the directories themselves or link to the ftp site.

I had thought about inserting an inline frame and linking to my shares this way (by enabling the web share function on the directories) although if there is indeed a web part available then this would be much better.

Basically when you navigate to my FTP site and view the page this way is exactly what I'm after through my sharepoint site!.

Hope someone can advice.

Cheers

Create a basic web part page.

Add "Page Viewer Web Part"

In the details link it to view you ftp site and you should be good to go.

Beowulf005, thanx a million for that - although the web part doesn't take FTP I just pointed it to the 'webshare' URL instead and works a dream!. Many thanx once again for your help, greatly appreciated.

Thats weird the help file said it would take ftp information and display it. But at lease you go it working.

Tis strange, just comes up with error regarding URL for FTP:// - though can't see what the problem would be regarding that - preferred the method I ended up using anyways so great result anyway!.

Thanx again

On another (probably more IIS) issue, any idea how to use sharepoint logon credentials to authenticate to another website situated on the same server?. Basically, I have my sharepoint site running on port 8082 and my 'webshare' site running on port 8081. The sharepoint/webshare server is a member server of the domain though when hosting my 'webshare' pages within sharepoint web parts the users have to authenticate once for sharepoint and then again for the webshare pages.

Cheers
Marko
