Can someone direct me to articles, steps on setting up an access database to be share by at least five (5) users.

I know how to build the database but don't know who to make it available to several users.

Your guidance, direction will be appreciated.

Are you on an INTRAnet or INTERnet? If you're on an intranet, just place the database on the server in a shared drive.
Also, what parts (forms, reports) do you want the users to have access to? If you're on an internet, and it's just a couple of forms, then create simple DAP's.
Please supply more info.

Thank Fneily (Instructor) you for your prompt replied. Our customers have a share drive. What I would like to do is put the database base in the share drive so that they can get access (read, write and update) the database. However, I have heard that there could be issues with multiple users accessing this type of set up. Would like to know if it is possible or if this will be a good approach? How to mitigate potential issues if this approach is use.

Hopefully, this provide the information requested. Thank you again for your patience and collaboration. Looking forward to your reply.

Do you have it as Front End / Back End? If so, place the Back End in the Shared Drive, then place the Front End on EACH User.

If not Front End / Back End, still place the file in the Shared Drive. Then create a shortcut on Each User to the File.

Then got to Tools \ Options \ Advanced. Make sure it is set as Shared \ No Locks.

IF you have any trouble at all with Record Locking, etc. try this.

Tools \ Options \ Advanced. Set as Exclusive \ All Records.

Hope this helps.

The database is not a front-end or back-end database.

Thank you for your collaboration.
