Shapes belonging to more than a layer won't work

I have a diagram with multiple layers.
Some shapes belong to more than one layer.
I try to separately display/hide layers manually (View_Layer Properties) but it's not working.
I get shapes displayed that do not belong to the selected layer or the opposite, some shapes of the selected layer do not appear.

Is it not allowed to have a shape shared between layers?
