I'm having problems with an animation I am working on.

I've got a square and I am trying to animate it folding in half. To do this, I split the square in half, leaving 2 pieces on different layers. For the side I want to fold inwards, I got it starting position and inserted and keyframe for the end, then altered the end keyframe to make the piece look like its moved to the centre giving an impression of perspective. I did this by using the white arrow and moving the points of the shape. But when I put a shape tween at the start, it doesn't move inwards like I want it to. Instead the points seem to cross over and reshape the wrong way. Why on earth does this happen and what am I doing wrong?
