Shadow Folders -

What are the problems that will come from deleting the contents of the Shadow Folders in a sourcesafe database?

Some projects have been completed and removed from the database, having been burned to CD. However I believe from the size of the Shadow Folders these projects are nver being deleted from there. I think if I delete all the contents of the Shadow it will rebuild itself from the database - with only current projects/files etc...

Is this the case ? What sort of problems will this cause ?

Not 100% sure as we haven't done this, so I'd make a backup of your Shadow first.

But from what I know you should be able to delete everything in the Shadow folder, then do a get lastest version to that Shadow & you'll be in sync. Hope this helps,

Thanks, I am a bit further with this now and it appears to re-populate the Shadow when you Update teh Shadow Entry in the Admin Options. Unfortunatley it didn't free up as much space as I'd hoped for though.
