'Shadow Error' BCM 400

When trying to back up a rls 4 bcm 400 getting error 'shadow error' so can't back up and dont know wheather to reboot or put latest patches on in case it falls over and have not got an up to date back up, any advise have you come across this b 4.

The alarm id coming up is 12021 internal error could not shadow data.

Install the latest patches.

Couldnt install latest patches.Tryed a reboot then all lights flashing and call pilot died, in the end i had to change out hardrive now ok, hope no one else gets this error.
