Hi all,

I facing a very big problem here...
I had scheduled to run the Software and Hardware inventory at certain time, but sometime it always run few hours or even few days later...this happened to Software distributions also even i configured it to be mandatory.
My network time is already sync...Is there any ways or scripts which can be install on the server side that can force the inventories and software distribution to run??
I had tried to force the inventories to run from the client side and refresh the advertisement icon at the client for the software distribution and it works but somehow i find it unacceptable force the inventory and keep refreshing the advertisement icon from the client side especially my environment have a thousands over of PC.....

THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE.....

day123,

Yes, you can configure the fequency of HARDWARE scans throught the SMS administrator MMC. This is under Site Settings. In my environment, I use a one time a week schedule.

I believe the client will scan hardware based on the time the client installation occurred. For example, if the SMS client software was installed Monday at 1:35pm (and the site setting for hardware scans were set to once a week.), the client would scan every Monday at 1:35pm. If a client installed on a Wednesday at 8:23am, every Wednesday at 8:23am the local client inventory scan will take place.

This is true for both HARDWARE and SOFTWARE scanning....although the fequency of scanning can be configured individually.

Again...you can control the scanning frequency for you sites through the SMS Administrators Console (MMC) under Site....
