what is the correct configuration for the ethernet ports
on the SFx800's system controllers so as to connect to network switch?

auto negotiate or forced (what speed)
full or half duplex?

thanks

I always used default settings with self assigned ip etc.. all works fine.

Do you have a problem or are you just trying to cover your bases?

Thanks

You should start with auto negotiate and check the settings once you are connected. This really depends on the enviroment you running in. What the switch capabilities are. Can it run 10/100/1000 Base? If it is capable of running 100/1000 Base, you should always be running at full duplex.

I had set these systems up back in 1/2003 and just recently
the controllers on all three systems lost ethernet connection (no telnet or ping).

I used the command setupplatform to set the SC's IPADDRESSES
and they all worked. The keeper of the network switches has done something and I am gathering some info.
I am sure the problem is on the switch side.

thanks
