Several minor user issues that bug the heck out of me

Hi,

I have been using PP for a short while and I have to assist others from time to time. I have found a few things that just annoy me to death about the program and I would like to know if there are any quick fixes I am missing:

1) If you create an subset definition, is there any way to combine several of these to create a row? Normally I would use shift->click in the regular section.

2) When I create a subset definition, I cannot get to the lowest level (in my case, part number) when in the subset creation box.

3) When I do a search I cannot expand the results field to see the whole path. With over a million part numbers, this makes the search next to useless.

I know these are small things, but they would really help me if I could address them. THANKS!!!

Welcome to PP!

Make sure that you are in "reporter" mode for subsets to work

1) Not that I have found. You can select muliple items of a subset, but not multiple subsets.(see #3 below)
2)When you make the subset (I assume that you want advanced type), make sure that the lowest level that you want to appear in the subset is selected in the "Catagories to include", "Level" box on the right side of the subset box.
3) In the FIND box it does not open up any further, but you can scroll across. However if you make the find statement into an advanced subset (by "save subset" after you find your items, look at the subset definition at the bottom left, hit the "+" icon, the box will show all the details, and you can open it up if you don't have room. From this advanced subset, you can pick any or all of them & drag them to your report. (This might also be the answer to question #1)

Hope this helps. If you are still stuck send me your email & I will send screen shots.
Bruce

Combine subsets in reports by:
1) Add the first subset as rows.
2) Nest another category AFTER these, on the rows.
3) Nest the second subset inside this one.
4) Select the category added in step 2 and then delete it.
