I it possible to add several analog devices on an IP Office 7.0? I have a PRI that will be using 14 analog style auto dial elevator phones and then a few security door phones. I see that the COMBO card only has 2 ports on it. Is there a better solution?

Yes, add 2x Phone8, then you have 16 analogue extn.
(2 free ports for the few security door phones. If more is needed, add Phone2 or 8 cards till you have the amount you need. Max 4 cards on the chassis.)
Expansion modules with 16/30 ports are also available, but cost more.

The PRI can piggyback on one of the Phone cards, or have a VCM32 card if you are going to use IP phones on the system / connect it to other system with SCN.

Kind regards

Gunnar

You can put 384 analogue phones on if you like, so instead of "several" you can have many :)

Yeah, there is a 384 elevator limit, I think your covered[smile]

Kind regards

Thank you. If I am setting up a door phone that needs a door strike I would assume that I can use an AVAYA door phone but how do I get the signal to the door strike? Will the IP Office show an option when the call rings in on a RING DOWN and would display FRONT DOOR will it have a button that says OPEN and when pressed on any phone will send a signal to the door to open?

What is the best way to handle this with an IP Office

Is it permitted to connect elevator phones through a PBX in your location?

Even if it is is it a wise Idea, what happens if the Building has a power outage?
you now have someone stuck in a lift potentially unable to call out for help, connecting to a direct exchange line means it would probably still be operational.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Needs a good UPS (kind of goes without saying, but still...)

Kind regards

I would agree with IPGuru. Check your local regulations. Our's don't allow elevator phones to use anything but dedicated CO lines.

Think twice, speak once~~!!~~

Some countries are shutting down the Copper now, like mine:)
They have two options, PBX SIP or GSM. (GSM is bad on New Years eve...and the risk of a fire high)

Sunset, you second question qualities as a thread on it's own, but it depends on what you buy.
Some doorphones activate a relay then a the receiver sends DTMF back.

Kind regards
