I have entered the static IP info on the WAN port. I have also added the DNS servers provided by the ISP to the options form. But I still cannot browse the intenet using the 3300.

Are there any other options I need to add to the options form or is there something else that needs to be done for the WAN setup to work. I even tried using DHCP on the WAN port. The port gets the IP but no internet.

Are you kidding me. What a waste. Wouldn't I be able to just forward some ports on the customer firewall and access the web page remotely.
I can ping the wan interface remotely. So I would think I can use the wan for internet access on the internal subnet.

You can use the wan port for internet access. Check the THB to make necessary programming changes. make sure you have the correct IP address for the gateway.

I have checked all Mitel documentation and followed it to setup the wan port but still does not work.
I checked the IP I am using on my laptop and it works fine.
I get a link light on the wan port but no activity.

I entered the ip, subnet mask and gateway. I entered the DNS servers in the option list under DHCP. I verified that my laptop received an ip, subnet mask, gateway and dns servers-but still get no internet access.
There's something I am missing, for sure.

What happens if you try and ping google from the maintenance command form. Also is the gateway for the laptop set to the Mitel's internal IP not the WAN IP? I'm not sure of your experience level so my apologies if I'm stating the obvious.

Can you give the IP addresses that are being used and we may be able to help diagnose further.

have you turned the firewall on?
Have you added the DNS server in the IP options form?

If I'm not mistaken, the ip of the gateway needs to be the same as the Layer 2 switch or you can't get access to the internet. Found in System IP Configuration form.

My systems usually have:

xxx.xxx.xxx.2 System IP address
xxx.xxx.xxx.3 Gateway IP Address
xxx.xxx.xxx.3 Layer 2 (L2) Switch Address

When I am using the WAN port for internet access and yes you can then use port forwarding for remote programming access.

Concur with jonmyk, definitely default g/w is the L2 switch address. Put in the IP prop form and in associated DHCP option in mitel (if using!) Also I use an external DNS for resolution, for example:

OPEN DNS: 208.67.222.222
Google: 8.8.8.8

Again put in DHCP options (6 I think)

You probably already have this done, but just to be sure.
The 3300 may not have any other gateway information then it's own L2 switch. If the L2 switch encounters an IP address it can't find it will automaticly be pushed out through the WAN port.

OK got it working:
Changed option 3 (Router)& Option 6 (dns server) to the default gateway.
Changed IP Properties:
L2 Switch IP to default gateway IP.
DNS server setting in IP Properties is public DNS IP's

System IP Properties:
System IP- 192.168.3.25
Subnet Mask- 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway- 192.168.3.1
L2 IP- 192.168.3.1
Primary DNS-64.115.x.x
Secondary DNS-64.115.x.x

Wan Settings:
IP- 64.61.x.x
subent mask-255.255.255.248
gateway-64.61.x.x

Firewall-On

DHCP Options-
Router-192.168.3.1
DNS Server-192.168.3.1

My errors were the DHCP options and I changed the L2 address to the default gateway IP.

Thanks for your help people, I really appreciate it.

BTW I also setup port forwarding on port 443 to the 3300 IP and it works also.
Not sure if I will keep that on though-security reasons.
