Please help.

Setup is rebooting during the device detection screen.

here is whats happening.

Original motherboard has died!
Moved drive to new motherboard.
Booted to cd, installed ide drivers from floppy, did install->repair selected installation
no it reboots about half way through the device detection process. really really need help here, absolutly can not reformat!

thanks!

win 2k wants you to make 4 floppies to boot with. your documentation will give you info about where on the cd to start the makeboot program. it will prompt you for 4 formatted floppies. after making the boot disks, boot from them. ide drivers, in fact all needed drivers for at least safe mode operation should be on those floppies.

never needed to do that before, but i will try it. the whole point of a repair installation is to reconfigure all installed devices. when you have a drive that you can't sysprep, the method i used above works very well. there is a KB atricle on it i believe. I will try the floppy boot though...

hardware issues, thanks anyways! should have guessed that from the start!
