Got these 2 extensions that need to have a voicemail box for. I looked through the FAQs and got confused at this section.

To Make Incoming Calls go to Voicemail (if a vacant desk becomes occupied)
Prompt type note
> LD 11
REQ CHG
TYPE 2616
TN ## ## Enter TN (Port) number
ECHG Yes Easy Change?
ITEM FDN FDN is the "Forward if no answer" DN
7000 7000 forwards calls to Voicemail after the 4th ring

HUNT HUNT is the "Forward if busy" DN
7000 7000 forwards calls to Voicemail after the 4th ring if the phone is busy

When I get to ITEM, I put in FDN and press enter, then it just shows ITEM again. So I dont think I got anywhere.

Also, when looking up the TNs. Sometimes I seem to get multiple sets and Im not sure which is the right one. It will look like

9 0 0 8
8 0 0 0

Want to make sure I am getting the right numbers.

Thanks again for helping out a newb. This board is great.

When you enter the FDN do not hit enter until after you put the CDN so it would be
FDN 7000 <enter>
Hunt 7000 <enter>
CLS FNA HTA <enter>

Dwayne

I did that. So its suppose to just give me the ITEM prompt again? I was expecting some kind of confirmation I guess.

Go easy on me with the acronyms! =)

Whats the line CLS FNA HTA mean?

CLS = Class of Service
HTA = Hunt Allowed
FNA = Forward No Answer
MWA = Message Waiting Allowed

Also means that when you get prompt item, you type CLS space, HTA space FNA

This will allow the hunting and the forwarding feature to work on the phone.

tried this.

LD 11
REQ: CHG
TYPE: 2616
TN: 9 8
ECHG: YES

then under the ITEMS

ITEM: CLS HTA FNA
ITEN: FDN 7000
ITEM: HUNT 7000
ITEM: LHK 1

did all that, and the phone still rings without going to voicemail. default amount is 4 rings right?

the voicemail box IS active as i am able to access it and login.

so what did i do wrong?

thanks.

TNB? You mean this stuff?

EXT 2612
TN 009 0 00 08 KEY 00 H MARP DES 201
(2616)
TN 008 0 00 04 KEY 08 DES 201

EXT 2620
TN 007 0 00 11 KEY 00 H MARP DES 206
(2008)
TN 008 0 00 04 KEY 13 DES 201
(2616)
TN 009 0 00 08 KEY 02 H DES 201
(2616)

I don't know any of the Meridian jargon, so you'll have to be more detailed. =)

Then just hit <enter> till you get a printout
that printout is what they want to see.

Are you sure 7000 in your Voice mail DN? Have you printed out a TNB on a working phone to compare against?

Yes, 7000 is what we dial to access our voicemail.

Ironically, I have to hunt down a new ribbor or printhead for that printer. But I'll write down the information and bring it back up to post here.

If you can connect to your PBX remotely, you could use hyperterminal or procromm to as your emulation software. Then you would be able to print out to your network printers and/or cut and paste into notepad/word.

I don't think thats ever been done. The guy I replaced here never mentioned such a convenience (a rarity around here in the first place.)

Looks like I'll have to replace the printer with another sometime.

Is there a particular line of info you guys need?

No this is a DNB, if you look at the 2 TN's you'll see 1 has MARP next to it. MARP indicates which phone is the Promary and controlling phone. you need to make the changes on this phone, the other phone is probally the sect phone as it is on key 8. You print a DNB to get the TN, so you can print a TNB to see how that phone is programmed.

If your the one that is going to take of this switch, I would suggest going to a database admin training cource to get more insight on how to do programming. It will really help.

Now that you have this already set up, you could go to that phone and just press the Forward key twice to put the phone in Call Forward mode - routing calls directly to VM without it ringing at all...

So what's specifically in the TNB that you guys are interested in?

Not to say you didn't do what you say you did, but we have had other's say they did something. but when they post the TNB or other printouts we asked for we find they didn't tell us about the SCH codes they got and that's why something didn't work.
