I currently have an account with GoToMyPC to enable some of my users to access their workstation desktops remotely. Works great, but expensive.
I am looking at setting up VPN on our W2K SBS server as a (cheaper?) alternative. I need to be convinced that it will offer equal or better performance than going through GoToMyPC.
Our setup is a single W2K Small Business Server (SP4) with an internal NIC and an external NIC for direct connection to the internet. We use static IP addresses (192.168.***.***) for all of our clients, which are XP Pro SP2. We also use ISA Server 2000 as our firewall.
As a newbie to VPN, how do I setup the SBS to act as RAS server using our exisitng external NIC AND still have direct internet access? Is it preferable to have a dedicated RAS server? Are there any special port access considerations for ISA Server?
Any pointers to idiot-proof setup procedures much appreciated!
