I know there are software packages out there for installing tracking software on Windows desktops to track all internet and app usage, but I'd like to build a server that will sit in front of my firewall and just log all internet traffic for me so that I can watch what happened in the last week. Started searching around this and the Linux, apache and even IIS forum but didn't find anything relating to it. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks! Does your site really just have the word 'Resume' and nothing else?

Yeah.. been lagging a bit.
I do that so when it gets spidered by google there is atleast some info related to my wesbite available.

Anyone tried Squid Proxy to keep track of internet usage etc?

I have used Squid ( to log all Internet usage. I do this, and e-mail the log files to myself nightly.

But, if you are interested in logging ALL Internet traffic, not just www, you might want to have the firewall you are using perform some type of logging. I am using ipf, and it does not log content, but does give enough information to see who requested what or what ports, etc.
