Hello,

I am trying to setup a PPTP server on my XP machine, following the (numerous) tutorials I found online.
My setup is the following: XP machine --- linksys router --- cable modem

1) On the XP machine: I created a new VPN Incoming connection, and allowed it to assign addresses in the range of the router's addresses, but not in the DHCP. (i.e. my router's IP addressing ranges 192.168.1.0 through 192.168.1.200, but the DHCP assigns only from 192.168.1.100 and up, so I configured the VPN to assign addresses in the 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.60 range).
2) On the XP machine: I opened TCP port 1723 on my windows firewall.
3) On the linksys router: I forwarded TCP 1723 to my XP machine
4) On the linksys router: I enabled PPTP passthrough

When I go to work, I cannot connect to the VPN with a XP machine, but I am able to connect with my Mac OS laptop: I get to authenticate, etc and then I see the connection being established. However, if I enable the "send all traffic through VPN", I completely lose all connectivity.
Things I checked:
1) My XP machine at home has full connectivity
2) When the VPN is up, I can ping only the XP machine where the PPTP server is (using internal addresses), but none of the other devices.

I am out of ideas. I think I am really close from having this setup, but I can't figure out what my next step should be.

Thanks for your help,
JL
