I am a newbie to the Merlin Magix and would appreciate some help with setting up a modem for remote access. Please start with progamming the DID or extension on the Magix. Thanks in advance.

The modem is built in. It is extension *10

The default remote access code is 889

You have a block of DID numbers, pick one of them to be your remote access number

Under System Renumber, Single, Remote Access, change the default number to the DID number.

Under Lines, Remote Access, Code Info, Code Entry, create a Barrier Code to prevent unauthorized users from getting in.

Also under Remote Access, under System Programming, assign the barrier code for programming access.

Now dial the DID number, it will ring two times and answer with a stutter dial tone. Dial the barrier code, it will return dial tone again, then dial *10 to be transferred to the modem.
