Setup Linux mail server

Hi all,

I intend to setup a mail server ( SMTP and POP mail server ) under Red Hat Linux but I don't have any idea of what softwares I should use. If you have experiences about setting up a Linux mail server, please give me a couple of suggestion like what softwares I should use, and some comments as well as comparison among mail server softwares.

Try postfix and qpopper.
Both are (fairly)secure, there are tons of help available for them online and postfix is easier to configure than
sendmail.

If you want to make it a little easier on yourself, try out the E-smith mail server (it's under a different company now, forgot the name).

There's an ISO image available and makes the system a dedicated mail server system and <?> firewall. I've no idea (it's been a while), what mail servers are used, but it was fun to play with it for a while.
