I work for a consulting company and we have a potential client interested in Crystal Enterprise. What are people's thoughts on the standard installation and setup tasks associated with Crystal Enterprise? Realizing that each install is different, I am trying to identify tasks that would be part of the 'standard' install. Here is what I came up with so far:

Product Install (physically loading the software on a server)
Web server / firewall configuration
User & Security Design and Setup
Portal Customization

Other thoughts?

Make sure that the WEB setup is done first, in particular that IIS is installed and running, CE won't install properly otherwise.

If possible, try to use NT Security and inherit the security groups.

I try to minimize the Portal customization, opting to use ePortfolio and simply changing the generic graphics and CSS and a few egenric text pieces.

Allowing for failover and restoring is also critical.

APOS has a number of helpful CE products, and even some freeware for Administration:
