Setup Https for mail

I have sendmail up and running with squirrel mail for web based email. I would like to setup the webmail to use https in stead of http.

Any ideas?

I take it that you are using apache ... why not just use the https protocol instead of http from the browser - the specific http protocol handling is down to the container/web server and the browser - not the web application.

Yes I am using Apache and that is what I am trying to do could you supply instructions on what to change.

Well, I don't think you need to change anything on the *mail* side of things. If you have SSL set up for http, then instead of accessing the url such as :

http://myserver/mymailurl

use :

https://myserver/mymailurl

If you don't have SSL set up for apache (most distros do), then you need to read :

http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/ssl/
