Setup ...hardware configuration 1

Trying to set up HP Netserver LH Pro as W2K professional server, never gets beyond initial boot up at "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..."

Research at MS web site produces these 2 hits:

MS Article ID: Q216251 ... How to Specify a Specific or Third-Party HAL During Windows 2000 Setup ..states: During the first phase of Setup, at the Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration screen, press the F5 key.

MS Article ID: Q216406 .. Specifying a third-party controller driver during Setup should be necessary only if Windows 2000 does not contain a driver for your SCSI adapter, CD-ROM drive, or special disk controller, or if Setup does not detect your hardware correctly. ... states: During the first phase of Setup, at the "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" screen, press the F6 key.

I can't do either, when it gets to "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" there is no keyboard response.

Suggestions?

Try a different keyboard. Try taking out non-essential stuff, i.e. extra cards, cd-rom, etc. Break it down to the bare minimum and build up from there.

Alas, after much experimentation, the solution to my problems...

As it turns out, in order to successfully install W2K, had to:
Disable BIOS on HP Netraid adapter
Formatted 8gb, (even though it thought it saw 1000 gb), and went through install.
Upon reboot enabled BIOS on HP Netraid adapter (if you don't it doesn't see the drives)
On second reboot it then sees the new OS, and asks for CD to continue.
From there, all appears well, (so far).
