I look after 22 remote machines.
I have written several data capture scripts gathering day to day info on disk space etc
I need to get these back to me. A couple of the boxes automatically e-mail the output but the others do not.
I believe this is because the ability to e-mail has not been set-up on them. How do I set this up ?
Apart from one box which is AIX the others are all Sun Solaris 5.7 boxes.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
U can send a mail to outside user from a server if u do the following configuration changes on your server....
1)vi /etc/defaultdomain(Enter the domainname of your place)
then give the command -- domainname <name of domain>
2)vi /etc/mail/sendmail.cf(Search for mailhost entry and hash out that line eg
# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
#DSmailhost.$m
Instead of this entry enter the name of your exchangeserver entry as 'DS<exchangeserver>.<name of domain>'
Then restart the sendmail service as
/etc/init.d/sendmail stop
/etc/init.d/sendmail start

Then try to send mail to your id....

I hope this helps....
