I have setup CE 8.0 version on a portable computer to use for demostrations. Everything works fine when it is connected to the network and the internet.

However, when it is disconnected it will not work. It keeps coming up with the message saying I need to synconise. I have mucked around with this but I cannot get it to work.

Any suggestions?
Running Windows 2000 professional, personal SQL 2000, CR 8.5 and CE 8.0

Cheers

It doesn't say what it wants to synch to?

It sounds like it was set up as a cluster, or that it's database isn't local.

Thanks for your reply

Actually come to think of it I might try a reinstall first.

My it should be able to run in a standalone mode? If I configure it correctly.

CE needs an intranet server in order to run. Reebo

Sorry I'll add a bit more, You can set it up to run standalone, but you will have to set your portable up as a virtual intranet server. CE doesn't run it's own protocols, it is designed to interface with any intranet software, such as IIS. Reebo

Thankyou Reebo & synapsevampire.

I have now got it working.
