In my internet domain I have a catchall@mydomain.com email account which I would like to forward to my exchange server. The account options has a Forwarding option which I put my routers IP address. I then forward the relevant ports to my exchange server.
I can send and receive email internally no problems and I can send email externally.
My problem is receiving internet mail, when I send an email to anyone@mydomain.com i get this error:
xx.xx.xx.xx (my forwarding ip address in the catchall account)
Delivery failed
Could not deliver message - system error:
The parameter is incorrect.
Am I approaching this the wrong way?
Do I need an A name and MX record set up to point at my routers IP address first?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
