I have a few employees that need to work from home, in order to setup the VPN i would nee to go to their house and do it myself. that is a lot of work, i tried to write detailed instructions on how to and have no luck. they always have problems or 20 questions. ist there a VBS script that Setup a VPN connection with pre-defined parameters?

If you have a CISCO VPN Concentrator you can use WebVPN. The user will just have to visit a website. No client to install.

Unfortunally I don't have a concentrator, i'm using a watchguard firewall.

where does the vpn client store its configuration files? is it a registry key or a file? you could winzip it and have it self extract to the correct dirctory, after they setup the vpn client with no settings.

I apologize i should give more info, I'm using the windows vpn client so, basically what i need i to create a new connection with the setings predefined.

Microsoft servers come with the Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK) to automate the process of creating VPN (and other remote networking) connections. If you have a server version of Windows, it is likely that it is already installed.

If you do not have a server version, you can still get the CMAK -- it will run on the workstation versions, just does not come with it. See thread463-712039
