Hello fellow tipsters!

My mission: to setup a wireless NIC to work with Suse!

o/s: Suse 8.2 (i386 / Athlon optimized kernel).
NIC: Belkin 802.11g PCI card (model F5D7000)

I haven't yet found a driver for this baby; suse DOES recognise it as a NIC (with the allocation eth1).

Unlike previous Belkin cards, this uses the Broadcom chipset, not the Prism or ADM chipsets.

I've discovered the IRQ, but cannot find an I/O address (the only resource identifier shown is the memory address range).

- Does anyone have any suggestions for an appropriate driver?
- Any idea what parameters should be passed, given that I can't find an I/O address?!

Thanks in advance [smile]

As you'll see from these two links, there hasn't been any support for cards with Broadcom chips.

However, Broadcom has finally started to release drivers, these may or may not work with your specific card, but at least they are out. Hopefully Belkin will start testing and developing their own.

Thanks Matt,

I'm still hoping one of the generic drivers will do the job, but no luck so far...guess the cable's going to be staying for a little while longer then!

I'll post back if anything turns up.

Hi Manarth,

Back in August you posted a question about installing the Belkin F5D7000uk on a Linux system. I bought one the other day but I haven't opened the packing yet. I read that the broadcom chipset isn't well supported and I'm thinking about swapping this device for another brand/model.

Did you get your device to work under linux?

Thanks

PS. I also have the F5D7010uk PCMCIA adaptor.
