G'day....
In Australia the standard date format is not the same as in the US. It is dd/mm/yyyy.
Infoview currently defaults to a locale of English United States.
The Infoview web.config contains an option (which I have set) to restrict locales to English only.
i.e.
<!-- If this is true then only english locales are supported -->
<add key="disableLocalePreference" value="true" />
But each Infoview user MUST still set their own preferences - locale to "English Australia" so that dates are presented correctly in Infoview and in viewed reports.
The risk is (also for any user anywhere in the world) that if the wrong locale is chosen, dates may be presented incorrectly and then interpreted incorrectly. i.e. if a US locale is used and a date presented as 1/3/2005, an Australian would read that as Mar 1 when it was really Jan 3!
Tech support have raised an enhancement request for me along the lines of....
Infoview locale to default to locale of machine (CMS) rather than US locale.
Default time zone to be local to server.
Options in Infoview Web.config to hide locale and time zone so users can't change.
An option in web.congfig would be the quickest to implement, but ideally I believe this should be configurable via the CMC. (like many other settings that should also be easily configurable for Infoview).
So, pending a resolution from BO, can anyone suggest a quick easy solution that would enable me to set the locale & time zone preference for all users?
Thanks,
Malcolm.
