setting user rights for downloads

I'm running the win32 version of apache on a windows 2000 server.

I have several files that I want anyone to be able to download, and I have another set that I want people to be prompted for credintials to download them.

How is this done?

I assume that you will be using 2 different directories for this. You can use .htaccess for the directory you want to restrict.

I have everything in the same directory now, but I can move them. That will work, thanks!
