Setting up Xerox Docutech printer remotely using AIX

We are having problems getting an Informix file to print on our networked Xerox Docutech printer. Our network OS is AIX. I did get it to print the file successfully as a text file, but we need all the formatting.

Has anyone been able to accomplish this? I assume that since the Docutech is a remote printer, it must be set up much differently than our 343 networked print queues.

we have the same problem before, but as far as i can remember - our programmer defined an alias in our application with all the corresponding printing functions of the printer. say, alias P1 "| enq -P lexopt" "lexmark" , etc... and works fine!

maybe you have a config tables in your informix applications that will do the same thing.

WEll you might also look at whether you do local formating before sending or just send the job... It may influence how the job prints....

or it may be the setup of whatever network device you are using...lantronix or intel netport or whatever.
