Hi,
I am having some issues while setting up the user level security in access 2000. I have ran the user level security wizard and it worked amazingly well but on all my forms where I module object it says "invalid username or password" and I click end and it opens the form. But it works fine on all the other forms and reports.

I know that there is some way to write some VB code to connect to the database but everything I saw you must but like a DB path and password which is not going to be possible in my case because the database uses the module in many places and the database is going to be deployed to many different computer systems and it is not feasable to change the code at every install. What can I do??

User security (even better, group security) does work. Check your settings. Consider reviewing some documentation.

lskuff,

As willir suggested, but try having a look through the help files as well, as they tend to have examples in them too.

Hope this helps

I have read so many different things. I even have an Access 2000 book which goes into how to set up the user/group - level security. I have followed the steps in depth but still getting the same problems. I think I need to somehow change the permissions on the modules in my database but I do not know how. Access 2000 does not let you set up the permissions for modules as in Access 97. Modules are not actually secured in Access 2000. I don't know what is up....

You seem to be correct. The only way I know of is to compile the MDB into an MDE for the front end.

But then you would have to ensure error checking is rock solid.
