Hi,
i work in a college and i have setup xp workstations under a windows 2003 server domain. By default users have restricted accounts but how do i make them power users from the server either using group policy or any other way but not from local machines so that they can run certain applications (quick books) which require users have power accounts

You can use the restricted groups feature of Active Directory.

I would recommend against making users Power Users we did that in our school for a while and the amount of spyware and toolbars that the students installed was beyond a joke.

Can you not open up permissions on the areas that Quick Books needs to write to instead?
