setting up UMAX scanner

Hello, I have been trying to hook up a used scanner, with both disks brand new. I try to read the disk and it says, "The software required to install this hardware is not found at this location."

What can I do?

Are you following the instructions for installing the scanner?
If it's a USB scanner, then it may have to be connected during the driver installation process.

Are the CD's the correct ones for the scanner?

Did you check the manuf's site for drivers?

you probably need to run "setup.exe" from the CDROM prior to plugging in the USB Device...

You may also find that UMAX doesn't share drivers very well, and the normal driver sources have very little to help you. Good luck.
