Can SQL server installed on a PC with Windows XP? or i have to change the OS to Windows Server2000 etc.

if you goto

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/sysreqs/default.mspx

and click on the standard edition, in the os box, xp is listed

however I think even the enterprise edition will be ok on xp but not supported. cannot confirm this though...
