I am questioning my searching abilities today because i've searched everywhere but cannot find anything on this.

I am trying to get Sage 300 2012 loaded with a sample company but am struggling big time. Can anyone point me to where i can see step by step on how to accomplish this.

Here are some of the road blocks ive hit.

I've verified i didn't install any pervasive stuff. When i activated my LP i activated a SQL one.

First I tried the database load, I can get all the way to the Finish button and receive an error.

I then saw a site that advised me i needed to manually create a SQL DB/USER/DNS for my sample database, so i did that and tried the load again. Same error.

Went into the Samdata folder and saw an application talking about creating SQL sample data, did that and created a dns relationship to that database, then went into database setup and added the new entry. When I launch accpac i get error 49153.

As you can see i am all over the place and im certain its alot simpler than im making it out to me, i just cant for the life of me get this to work. If there is any help anyone can provide would be awesome. I just need to get a sample company loaded into accpac.

The Sage 300 ERP 2012 Installation and Administration Guide has the info you need, Chapter 3 - Database Setup.

Basically create your system and company databases (2 databases). For sample data create samsys and saminc. Make sure that your database recovery model is set to Simple.
In Accpac Database Setup go create the 2 databases, first create SAMSYS as a system database and then SAMINC as a company database. Use the server name in database setup.
Then do your database load for SAMSYS and SAMINC.

Delete any ODBC DSNs that you created manually, they will be created automatically.

Sorry I should have said "create your system and company databases in MS SQL (2 databases)." instead of "create your system and company databases (2 databases).

Thank you VERY much ettienne, that did it! You're a life saver and a stress reducer! [thumbsup]
