Hi to all,

I have a Windows2000 file server(also a domain controller)

I know nuts about linux and samba.

I would like to setup an linux file server to replace the win2k server as a file server in my network.

I still want the win2k server to act as the domain controller.

How can I map or use the accounts that I created in the win2k to access the samba file server with correct the permissions?(mapping the accounts in win2k to account in linux??)

How can I shared out the backup tape drive in the win2k to be able to be access(backup) by the linux server??
So that baxkup can be done??

Please can anyone help??

Thanks in advance

For samba, You can get more information from If you used backup software like ARCServer /Veritas.
You just installed the Arcserve/Veritas client for linux backup to Win2k tape drive.
Or you can use NFS from Linux. And You should install Microsoft Unix services (NFS for Microsoft). For Microsoft, you should purchase the software with license.
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply and help!!

Will try ......

Can I come back to you when I have any more problem??

:)

regards
