Setting up RI?

We are trying to set up receiving inspection. Where can I find easy step by step instructions?

You need to first setup the inspection locations in the inventory location file. You can setup multiple RI and MRB Locations; but at least one is required.

You first setup the MRB Location and then attach the RI Location to MRB and then the main stocking location to the RI Location - Chain effect

Then...

You must activate Receiving Inspection in I/M Setup, and for items that will require inspection, the item must be set up as follows:

· The stocking location for the item must have a valid receiving inspection location entered for it in I/M Inventory Location Maintenance.

· The receiving inspection location must have a valid material review location entered for it in I/M Inventory Location Maintenance

· The item must be valid for the receiving inspection location

· The item must be valid for the material review location

Then once you receive the item in PO Macola will warn you the item needs inspection. If you have any more questions let me know

You must own the advanced distribution "module" in order to use RI. Please look at your registration file, this does not show up as a module per se when you activate modules in company setup.
