Here is my idea for how I want to ideally want to setup this vpn.
Windows Client, unsecure domain <--- unsecure network ---> pix 515e <--- secure network ---> radius on win2k3, secure domain, other resources
So a client computer access the secure network through a vpn where the vpn termination occurs at the pix. VPN username/passwords are provided by the secure domain to the pix via the radius server. All of this I have done, hence I can connect to the pix and access IP resources on the secure network.
What I can't get to work is accessing windows resources easily. I can access resources only if I use \\resource_ip\ and have to type the username and password again. What am I doing wrong here? All I have really been playing with on the pix is under the remote access tab, and nothing under ipsec or ike.
Microsoft's examples all look like they are using RAS/ISA to perform the vpn termination in which case you only use the pix to relay ports to the windows server, and falls back to using windows screendoor security.
What can I do to get this to work or what should I be looking at?
Thanks for you time. --Joe Vernaci
