Setting up PPTP on 2000 Server

Does anyone give me any step by step setup to installing and configuring PPTP on WIndows 2000. I have it setup but doesnt seem to be reliable and the speeds are just horrible. Can anyone help me or direct me somewhere that has a guide and some steps towards also securing it since it is out on the external interface of our company. Thanks
