We are currently trying to set up purchase orders on our system. We are a aerospace parts manufactuer and purchase alot of raw materials. These materials are bought by the pound and by the foot. We inventory the material by the foot. How do we set up the purchase orders to handle both types of purchases and still inventory our material by the foot. We can't seem to get the units of measurs to work right.

The answer is simple. How many pounds make up a foot? Or how many feet make up a pound? You need to be able to setup a conversion in MAS so the system knows how to translate the quantities. Normally it is ounces and pounds, boxes and cases, feet and inches. So if you buy by the pound and sell by the feet you need to let the system know how many feet are in a pound.
