Setting Up Pipeline 85 through ISDN to connect back to Max 2000

I am setting up a Pipeline 85 to use ISDN to connect back to my MAX 2000 PRI. I can dial the number to the Max with a phone and I get the eerie sound like normal. However, from my 85 when it tries to connect it instantly disconnects the call. I verified the settings because I have used this scenario before. I am using CHAP as the auth method and have verified my passwords on both ends. I thought my SPIDS might be incorrect but when I choose atuo-spid they come up correctly. The switch type my telco is using is 5E. Are the 85's compatible with using this version of switch type? I do not see an option for it. I upgraded the device to version 8.0.x and still no luck. My WAN link isn't constantly blinking so I know it's configured correctly. The WAN LED comes one when it tries to dial then goes off when the router terminates the call. Anybody else use this same setup and have similar problems.
 
I'd recommend not using Auto SPID. You should ask your telco what switch type you should use. 5E is actually the switch hardware itself and not the switchtype configuration. Most telcos in the U.S. use NI-1 switchtype. That would be the one I'd try.

Also I would not rely on what the LED's are doing as they don't really tell you anything. You should extablish a VT100 terminal session with your Pipeline either via Enet (telnet) or the DB9 cable (Hyperterminal). This is absolutely essential for troubleshooting since you can view every configuration details and run some debugs etc. Pay attention to the message log (should be the top right most display window). You should see the call sequence as follows:

Outgoing call > Call connected > Lan Session Up.

If you see:
Outgoing Call > Call connected, Call terminated.
most likely you have failed authentication, configured an incorrect IP address, or have an incorrect NAT configuration.

If you see:
Outgoing Call > Call Terminated.
then you have a physical layer issue. Either your BRI is misconfigured, the destination is misconfigured for your call type, or there is some other physical layer problem.
