I'm using MatWorx 6.3.2 on a 2000 IPS system. I would like to find out how to setup password protection for the first time on my PBX.

got to MOC mode.
E9>7>X This is where you enter the PW for the PBX
E9>8>1 this does not allow anyone to see what the PW is.
E9>9>0 this turns on PW service.

Now you can set the PW to your matworx connection.

To login from MOC or the phone.
03>7>X this is where the PW is entered to login.

Thanks for the quick reply, will the PBX accept characters such as (*#$@!) as part of the password or will it only accept alpha and numeric characters.

Alpha and numeric only, cannot be all CCC's and all FFF's either. And the last thing is that the only Alpha allowed are A-F.

I want to be sure I am understanding you correctly; I can only use the letters A-F in any combination only, for example(acadaf)correct? How many charcters does the password need to be?

Are you able to setup different levels of administration logins?

go to MOC mode.
E9>7>acadaf (F2-write) acadaf is my pswd.
E9>8>1 (F2-write)
E9>9>0 F2-write)
WOULD THIS BE A CORRECT SETUP

Your programming would be correct.

Different Admin levels are done in command E7, E7 gives access to specific commands other than level 7. PW level 7 is unrestricted levels 0-6 are fully restricted you would need to allow access to those levels via command E7.

I think the easiest way to explain the limitations is to point out that the password can be any number (there is a max number but I don't have the manual to hand) of hexadecimal characters. Hence you can use the alpha characters A to F but in fact you are using 10 to 15.
