Hi all,

I am currently using crystal 2008 and was wondering if I can do described below:

I am building a sales report. This report shows the transactions per salesman. I have a prompt to show details vs. summary. If the user chooses details then I need the detail section to show and the page layout to be landscape. However, if the user chooses summary then I only want to show the total for the salesman and suppress the details and the page layout to be portrait.

I can do the show and hide just fine. But I am not sure what I need to do for the page layout. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You can suppress or un-suppress sections based on a parameter, so the same report could have two different looks that way. Crystal 11 wouldn't let you change the page layout, but maybe Crystal 2008 could.

An alternative is 'drill-down'. This is where a report is shown with summary figures, but when a user clicks on the account etc. it produced a more details report on a separate tab. That might meet the business need better.
