Setting up outcall notification

Hello all! What is the procedure to set up outcall notification for Merlin Mail? I know the user changes the actual number and turns the notification off and on. What are the changes I need to make in the Merlin Legend and Merlin Mail systems?

You need to "authorize" the ports in the Merlin Mail to do remote transfer - probably just the last port - which does the outcalling and turns on and off the message waiting lights. By default ALL of the Merlin Mail ports are outward restricted. So go into systems programming, and under extensions, restrictions - unrestrict at least the last Merlin Mail port. Then go back into extensions programming, remote forward, rcf extensions, and enter that same port number. Then test it out. You may also have to allow remote forwarding in voice mail admin - I forget.

Also change the ARS restriction fot the last port from "0" to "3".

But no need for Remote Call Forward, as it's not forwarding anything, it's placing a new call after the original message is left in voice mail.
