Setting up new items and printing chits MICROS 3700

I am having trouble with getting new items to print chits to the kitchen printer. We did an overhaul of the menu and tried to create new item buttons for the MICROS 3700 and all items are not printing unless we add a dummy special prep to get the ticket to print in the kitchen. Did I miss anything in creating a new button that causes this?

look at how your print classes are set up.
Open POSCFG click on sales then print classes.

The reason why your buttons are showing only when you use special prep is because the special prep button is set to go to all devices.

You will need to make sure all print classes have a corresponding remote printers checked
