Setting up new back office compuer.

I presently have a Micros e7, single station with a backoffice computer that is running Windows XP. Yesterday, the hard drive of the computer was crashed, I can't even start the computer. Now, I try to replace with new computer (not the expensive one).
Can anyone advise me as to exactly what I need to do to reinstall the software and connect the networking to the new computer?
And what kind of computer would be good for backoffice?
