I have pacbell dsl with the speedstream 5360 modem. I'm trying to add a Netgear MR 314 router to the mix and am challenged by the instructions.
When I put the router into the mix, verify the IP, ethernet, and client for MS network settings are correct it will not establish a connection.
The directions discuss setting up PPPoE, which is required for pac bell, but I can't get to the router config settings because it continues to tell me i need to establish a connection to the internet first.
I have even done the trouble shooting with the SBC setup client, which will change configuration settings for a gateway or router and that has not helped. After rebooting everything several times - i went back to my basic connection.
I've either missed something early in the instructions for setting up network properties (can't get past step 2 in the directions and step 1 was to open the box)
