HI:
I have a situation that I am trying to resolve. I am the administrator of a database that tracks tax client information. The database is set in a multiuser network enviornment. My problem is that all individual users access the db through a shared network drive. When there are multiple users accessing the db at the same time, the record locking will lock all records and not allow the users to save their changes. The message will read something like "record being used by Admin#xxxx" which corresponses to the users' computer name. I then have to locate the named Admin#xxxx and have them logout of the db. Only then can a change be saved.
Question:
How do I setup the db security so that it allows each user to sign on as someone other than an "Admin" so that Access will not view every user as an administrator and lock the records?
Or:
How do I setup multiuser access in a network enviornment?
Thanks much for any help.
