I am trying to set up a DSN on our network to send and recieve data from an access database to mas 90. I have been unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The SOTAMAS90 ODBC driver is Read ONLY. To install you run work station setup. This is the recommended method and the fastest.

Please note that while ProvideX does have a read/write ODBC driver it is not intended for use with MAS and will result in data corruption 100% of the time.

after I test the connection in the odbc set up it comes back with 0 tables found. Sorry for the confusion this is the first time i've had problems setting up a odbc link. It's usually pretty smooth.

On the first panel, Basic in the box that says database directory you should have something like this:

\\account\account$\Best\MAS 200\Version4\MAS90

This is the path to the server where MAS is installed.

On the Options tab in the Prefix box you should have something like this:

\\account\account$\Best\MAS 200\Version4\MAS90\soa

On the Options tab in the ViewsDLL box you should have something like this:

\\account\account$\Best\MAS 200\Version4\MAS90\home

If this is a silent DSN, that is you do not want to have to log in then you need to uncheck Dirty Read and Burst mode and on the Login panel enter in the company code, user ID and password.

Should work now.

Just as Biglouie mentioned, run workstation setup for users who need to access the databases. ODBC is a workstation setup and best to keep it that way for security reasons.

Note that once you have created the ODBC entry you can actually use Windows Explorer and delete the MAS folder if you do not want the user to be able to run MAS.
